EIn the early 90th Mattel issued a sideline of three afro american girls called Shani, Nichelle and Asha and their boyfriend Jamal. All of the four got their own, brand new facemold. But the Shani series was not particularly successful, so it was reinstated after a few dolls. So after some Nichelles the headmold was only occasionally used for Christie or Collector dolls.

DDer Nichelle Headmold wurde 1990 vorgestellt. Es wird bis heute für afrikanische und afroamerikanische Dolls verwendet. In der Playline wurde das Face zu Christies neuem Gesicht, aber auch verschiedene Collectibles haben das Nichelle Face.
