EAccording to rumors in the Barbie community, this face was foreseen for a Marisa Model with opened mouth. But it  was never used for a „Model of the Moment“ Barbie. Some years after it was patented Mattel rummaged it out of the box and issued the Cha Cha Barbie (Grease) with this facemold.

Cha Cha was issued in two editions: Race Day und Dance off. Short time later it was used for a third doll – the Wicked Witch of the West. The Wicked Witch of the East got the Marisa Face.
