EShort time after the Barbie Color Reveal line Mattel startet a second line around little sister Chelsea. In wave 1, 2, 4 +5  the Chelsea dolls appears with hard (color changing) plastic heads with molded hairs. Until 2021 Mattel released 2 different variants of a girl headmold (they differs in their hairdo) and a new boy mold. The patent year of the girls might be 2018, the boy 2020 – but we have no confirmed informations about that.

DNach Barbie wurde auch mit ihrer kleinen Schwester Chelsea eine Color Reveal Reihe gestartet. In Wave 1, 2, 4 + 5 haben die Chelseas harte Kunststoffköpfe (mit Farbwechseleffekt) und modellierten Haaren. Bis Anfang 2021 gab es zwei Varianten dieses Chelsea Headmolds, sie unterscheiden sich im wesentlichen in der Frisur. In Wave 5 wurde erstmals auch ein Junge vorgestellt, er bekam ebenfalls ein specielles Color Reveal headmold. Die Köpfe sind ohne Jahreszahl, die Mädchen wurden vermutlich 2018 patentiert, der Junge 2020. Doch dazu haben wir keine bestätigten Informationen.

2019 Chelsea Color Reveal wave 1

Food #GPD41, green tube
The first wave includes 5 different Chelseas with differences in their skin, eye and hair colors. After washing them with warm water they wear a gymnastic suit with painted food on the top. The four surprising bags includes a removable ponytail, a skirt, shoes and an extra accessory.

2020 Chelsea Color Reveal wave 2

Outdoor / Sunny N‘ Cool (#GTP52)  orange tube
The five Chelseas in this wave have different related graphic on their suit; the skirts have fun prints; and the shoes and ponytails match with popular colors. Warm water changes the color of the doll, cold water changes the doll’s ponytail hairpiece. The box includes 1 Chelsea + 4 surprising bags. Release Date May 21, 2020.

2020 Chelsea Color Reveal wave 3

The five Chelseas in this wave use the regular hairy Chelsea headmold with opened mouth. The dolls body got a fishtail instead of legs. Cold water changes the color of the streaks in Chelseas hair and the face decorations. Every tube includes 1 Chelsea + 3 surprising bags.

2021 Chelsea Color Reveal wave 4

The Color Reveal Chelsea dolls in wave 4 are all about shimmer and shine, with sculpted metallic hair and legs and colorful plug-in ponytail hair pieces. The wave includes again 5 dolls with different combination of eye color, sculpted metallic hair color, skin tone, decorated bodice and shimmery metallic legs… Every tube includes 1 Chelsea + 4 surprising bags.
