1990 hat Mattel eine Fashion Doll Reihe exklusiv für die Handelskette Kmart entwickelt und produziert. Es gab insgesamt drei Dolls mit zwei verschiedenen Facemolds. Zwei der Dolls haben Barbiegröße, die andere Skippergröße. Das Copyright auf den Verpackungen der Dolls ist 1990, also waren sie wahrscheinlich ab 1991 bei Kmart erhältlich.
Die beiden Dolls mit Barbiegröße (PTR Arms) haben keinen Eigennamen, sondern wurden nur nach ihre Outfit „Party Dress“ und „Swimsuit“ genannt. Sie haben ein niedliches Facemold, das wie eine Abwandlung des SuperStar Face und Star Kelley Face aussieht.

Leider haben wir keine weiterführenden Infos gefunden, wie es zu der Kooperation zwischen Mattel und Kmart kam, wie groß die Auflage war und warum die Serie nicht fortgesetzt wurde. Wenn jemand mehr über die Fashion Friends weiß, bitte einen Kommentar hinterlassen.
In 1990, Mattel developed and produced a line of fashion dolls exclusively for the retail chain Kmart. There were a total of three dolls featuring two different face molds. Two of the dolls are Barbie-sized, while the third is Skipper-sized. The copyright date on the dolls‘ packaging is 1990, so we guess they were available at Kmart in 1991.
The two Barbie-sized dolls (body with PTR arms) have no individual names; instead, they were simply named by their outfits: „Party Dress“ and „Swimsuit.“ They feature a cute face mold that looks like a variation of the „SuperStar“ face and the „Star Kelley“ face.
