I think the correct year is 1990, because the doll with the same name from 1991 looks different and has a different number.
We list the Barbies by release date, not production date. Most of the older dolls were released one year after the production date. The first Barbie, for example, was produced in 1958 and was released in 1959. In more recent years, some batches were also released at the end of the production year. We try to research this as best we can.
