E1972 Ken got a new face and the first time in his life he had combable hairs!!! Under the mod era three Kens were issued with this new face. The Mod Hair Ken (with beard and moustache stickers in the set to change his look), Montgomery Ward’s Ken (looks very similiar the Mod Hair Ken) and The now look Ken.

The editions differs in the hair length, fullness, colour and material. But the hairs were not really made to comb. After some sessions they began to light or they became frizzy. The 2011 convention in Fort Lauderdale brought an unexpected revisions with this facemold. Two platinum edition gift sets with a caucasion or afro-american Barbie/Ken couple were presented. Both Kens used the Mod Hair sculpt.

DMit dem neuen Gesicht von 1972 bekam Ken erstmals kämmbare Haare. Während der Mod Era wurden drei Kens mit diesem Gesicht herausgebracht: Mod Hair Ken (mit Bart-Aufklebern, um Kens Aussehen zu variieren) Montgomery Ward’s Ken (Etwas andere Frisur und Fashion als der Mod Hair Ken) und The now look Ken (gezackte Augenbrauen)

Die Produktionen variieren bei der Fülle und Länge der Haare, Farbe und Material. Die Haare waren allerdings nicht zum Kämmen geschaffen. Sie fielen schnell aus oder wurden frizzy.

Ein Wiedersehen mit diesem Gesicht gab es 2011. Bei der Convention in Fort Lauderdale wurde Ken im Spring Break 1961 Gift Set mit dem Mod Hair Face vorgestellt. Das Set gab es in einer caucasian und afro-american Version.
