Zu ihrem 15. Geburtstag hat Mattel die Barbie Basics Reihe mit neuen Puppen und neuem Konzept wieder belebt. Wir haben ein bisschen diskutiert, ob wir an der Stelle anknüpfen sollen, wo die Reihe 2012 endete. Dann hätten wir mit der neuen Serie jetzt die 4. Basics Collection erreicht. Da sich aber beim Konzept einiges geändert hat, übernehmen wir doch lieber die Zählweise von Mattel und sind damit bei Barbie Basics 2025, Series 1.
Serie 1 umfasst 5 Basic Barbies. Die Hauttöne spielen bei dem neuen Konzept eine besondere Rolle, denn passend zu den Hautfarben von Doll 1, 2, und 3 gibt es ein ergänzendes Basic Kit mit drei weiteren Puppen. Aus den jeweils vier Basic Dolls mit dem gleichen Hautton können zig weitere individuelle Dolls kreiert werden. Das neue Motto der Basics lautet: customize. style. play. Die vier Dolls können nach Belieben Kleidung, Schmuck, Körper und Köpfe tauschen. Mattel hat dazu einen neuen Kopfadapter entwickelt, der einen einfachen Kopfwechsel ermöglicht, ohne dass etwas kaputt geht. Ein leichtes Erwärmen des Kopfes ist aber trotzdem zu empfehlen.
Die regulären 5 Basics Barbies verwenden bereits bekannte Facemolds und haben wie gewohnt gerootete Haare. Allerdings hat Mattel für die Haare einen neuen Synthetic-Mix entwickelt, der sehr stark elektrisiert, wenn man die Haare zu stylen versucht.
Die insgesamt 9 Dolls aus den Zusatz Kits haben alle neue Facemolds bekommen. Statt gerooteter Haare haben sie Perücken, die ebenfalls untereinander getauscht werden können.

We discussed a bit whether we should pick up where the series ended in 2012. Then we would have reached the 4th Basics Collection with the new series. But since a lot has changed in the concept, we prefer to use Mattel’s counting and thus we have Barbie Basics 2025, Series 1.
Series 1 includes 5 Basics Dolls. The skin tones play a special role in the new concept, because there are three Basic Kits available with three extra dolls who match the skin colors of Doll 1, 3 and 4. So we have together four Dolls with the same skin tone and dozens of other individual dolls can be created. The new motto of the Basics is: customize. style. play. The four dolls can swap clothes, jewelry, bodies and heads. Mattel has developed a new head adapter which makes it easy to change heads without anything breaking. However, we recommend to warm the head slightly.
The regular 5 Basics Barbies use familiar face molds and have rooted hair as usual. But Mattel has developed a new synthetic mix for the hair, which is very electrifying when you try to style the hair.
The total of 9 dolls from the additional kits have all been given new face molds. Instead of rooted hair, they have wigs that can also be swapped.
