The first Marilyn Monroe Edition appeared in 1997 and included three dolls. The dolls shows her in from „The Seven Year Itch“, and „Gentlemen Prefer Blondes“. Mattel produced them with Superstar Facemolds and designed them look to likeness with her film characters.
Mattels writes about the 2002 Doll that „the face is delicately sculpted“. No informations about the 2001 doll, but the faces seems to be the same. The last Marilyn (2009) got the Open Mackie / Aphrodite Face.
EZwischen 1997 und 2009 brachte Mattel sechs verschiedene Marilyn Monroe Barbies heraus. Einige der Dolls repräsentieren den Hollywood Star als sie selbst, andere stellen sie in ihrer Filmrolle dar.Die erste Edition erschien 1997 mit drei Barbies zu den Filmen „Das verflixte siebte Jahr“ und „Blondinen bevorzugt“. Für die Dolls wurde das Superstar Facemold verwendet. 2001 und 2002 folgten zwei weitere Marilyns, diesmal mit eigenem Facemold, das Mattel als „the face is delicately sculpted“ beschreibt. Für die bislang letzte Marilyn Barbie (2009) wurde das Open Mackie / Aphrodite Facemold verwendet.
