EThe two new Generation Girls Tori (Australia) and Chelsea (Great Britain) were introduced in 1999. They share the same facemold, mostly called Tori. The Generation Girl series included three different sets with Tori and two with Chelsea:

Generation Girl (Tori with skateboard und rollerblades, Chelsea withe guitar)
Generation Beat Danceparty – Toys’rus Exclusive, (Tori with Snowboard, Chelsea with drums)
Generation Girl My Room – with furniture – only Tori

The facemold was only used for a handful dolls. In the last years it had a little revival and in 2019 Mattel patented a modified version of the mold. The Cookie Swirl Barbie seems to be the first who used it.

DDie beiden Generation Girls Tori (Australien) und Chelsea (Großbritannien) wurden 1999 vorgestellt. Sie teilen sich das gleiche Gesicht, für das Tori die Namensgeberin wurde. In der Generation Girl Reihe gab es drei verschiedene Sets mit Tori und zwei mit Chelsea:

I think the diference is the fact that the original mold had the eyelids sculpted on (similar to the superstar mold), but since barbie dolls these days have such big eyes in comparison with older ones, and the way the faces are added to the dolls has changed so much over the years, could this be the reason they re-made it? Just my theory…

    1. I think you don’t have several AA tori barbies on here such as the superbowl LIX AA doll, the upcoming race car driver doll, and the upcoming AA tori bubble sparkle mermaid. Can you possibly add these dolls in?

    2. Hi Simbha,
      problem is, we don’t use Mattel Promotion pictures or pictures from somewhere of the web. So we have to wait until we get the doll into hands to take a picture, or a kindly friend owns the doll and sends us a picture 🙂

  4. I stopped buying the blue mermaid with the Tori face mold thinking he used the modified version by Caonra, which is listed in the modified category on this site, but today I discovered that he uses the original version.

    I don’t buy dolls that use modified face molds.
