©2019 Fashionistas Barbie Face #GHW61

EIn 2020, fashionistas number #147 was released with a new face. The mold has a closed mouth with full lips, a distinctive nose and looks indigenous, latin-american or middle eastern. It’s a bit similar to the Claudette headmold from 2014.
So far we have no official name for this headmold, but the product number GHW61 is moldeld in her back head (under the hair). In the last years, Mattel names the facial sculp sometimes after the catalog number of the first doll with that face. So we call that face GHW61 until we know something better.

In a later edition with the production number #GYB02, she released with a transparent, pink pencil case that can be reused to avoid plastic waste.

D2020 erschien mit Fashionistas Nummer #147 ein neues Barbie Gesicht. Es hat einen geschlossenen Mund mit vollen Lippen, eine markante Nase und indigene / lateinamerikanische Gesichtszüge, könnte aber auch gut für ethnische Barbies aus dem Mittleren Osten passen. Das Mold ähnelt ein wenig dem Claudette Face von 2014.

Bislang gibt es noch keine offizielle Bezeichnung für dieses Headmold, aber seit neuerem benennt Mattel das „facial sculp“ auch schon mal nach der Produktnummer der ersten Puppe mit diesem Gesicht. Deshalb nennen wir es jetzt erstmal GHW61, bis wir andere Informationen bekommen.

In einer späteren Ausgabe mit der Produktionsnummer #GYB02 erschien sie mit einer transparenten, pinkfarbenen Federmappe, die zumVermeiden von Plastikabfall wiederverwendet werden kann.

  2. I have a 2022 Santa Barbie that I don’t see in your database. She has a head date of 2019. Is this a new mold? Here are photos. I rerooted her in the same hair color she had originally. I appreciate your help.

  4. Hi, I have Fashionista #147 but the mark on her back is GYB02. I live in the US — do you think she might be a US version? Another notable thing about her is her body shape that I have not seen on another doll, and that is not much curvature. Her waist is almost straight and she has very small breasts. Body date of 2018.

    1. Hi, thank you for your suggestion. Very interesting point. We checked it and find out that the Fashionista with the number GHW61 was first sold with the cardboard packaging. After that, the same Fashionista with the number GYB02 was produced with the pink pencil case. Regards Tanja 🙂
