Das Verkaufskonzept von Mattel war indess etwas konfus. Über Mattel Creations war die Mariah Barbie sehr schnell ausverkauft und dann über einen längeren Zeitraum nur zu überteuerten Preisen auf ebay zu bekommen. Dann kam die zweite Produktions Charge und es gab sie plötzlich im Überfluss. Was darin gipfelte, dass sie bei amazon immer weiter im Preis sank und schließlich deutlich günstiger als bei Mattel Creations verkauft wurde. Dann: surprise, surprise – gab es zum Jahresende 2024 bei Mattel Creations noch mal mal eine Mariah Carey – weil ihr berühmter Christmas Song ja so gut in die Weihnachtszeit passte. Die Puppe war identisch, lediglich die Verpackung unterschied sich minimal von der 2023er Mariah. So ist jetzt die Beschriftung der Verpackungsfront (schnee)weiß statt golden.

She also got a curvy Model Muse body to match the figure of the living original, dubbed „Music Muse“ by Mattel. Her outfit is inspired by an evening dress that she wore in the “Make My Dreams Come True Edition” in 2019.
