D2023 war bei Mattel ein echtes Celebrity Doll Jahr. Unter den zahlreichen großen Namen der Vergangenheit und Gegenwart ist auch die US-amerikanische Sängerin Mariah Carey, die zum Ende des Jahres als Doll herausgebracht wurde. Als Designer von Mariah Carey by Barbie zeichnete Angel Kent verantwortlich. Die Puppe bekam ein Mariah Carey (likeness) Facemold, das ihre Gesichtsform und die Mundpartie gut nachzeichnet. Außerdem bekam sie passend zur Figur des lebenden Originals einen kurvigen Model Muse Körper, von Mattel als „Music Muse“ bezeichnet. Ihr Outfit ist von einem Abendkleid inspiriert, dass sie 2019 in der “Make My Dreams Come True Edition”trug.
