Beetlejuice ist eine US-amerikanische Horrorkomödie aus dem Jahr 1988 mit Michael Keaton und Wynona Ryder in den Hauptrollen als Beetlejuice und Lydia Deetz. Mattel widmete dem ungleichen „Liebes“Pärchen 2021 im Rahmen der Skullector Reihe ein erstes Monster High Giftset.
Im Jahr 2024, also 36 Jahre später, brachte Filmregisseur Tim Burton eine Fortsetzung mit dem Titel „Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice“ in die Kinos. Michael Keaton und Wynona Ryder haben darin erneut die Rollen als Beetlejuice und Lydia Deetz übernommen. Mattel brachte dann 2025 ein zweites Beetlejuice & Lydia Deetz Giftset heraus.
Die beiden Figuren mit ihren ungewöhnlichen Outfits sind von der Hochzeitsszene aus „Beetlejuice 2“ inspiriert.
