Der 500. Reformationstag im Jahr 2017 war ein guter Anlass für einen Minatur Martin Luther. Für das Projekt habe ich einen Ryan Kopf mit der Markierung 2005 Mattel, Inc. auf einen My Scene-Körper gesteckt. Das Gesicht habe ich komplett überarbeitet. Als Vorlage diente mir das Bildnis aus dem Umfeld Lucas Cranachs d. Ä. (1529); den Seitenblick habe ich allerdings nicht übernommen.
Die Kopfbedeckung und den Mantelkragen habe ich aus Filz gearbeitet und den Talar aus Satin genäht. Die besonders langen und breiten Ärmel wurden zusätzlich in der Innennaht gerafft. Die gesamte Kleidung ist nach meinem eigenen Design entstanden.
Luthers berühmte Thesen habe ich ausgedruckt, auf alt getrimmt und auf Büttenpapier geklebt.
Ich habe einige Zeit überlegt, ob mein Luther seine Thesen an eine Kirchentür nageln soll. Dieses Ereignis könnte sich zwar seinerzeit so abgespielt haben, ist historisch aber nicht gänzlich belegt. Daher habe ich auf eine Umsetzung der berühmten Anekdote verzichtet.
