Visiting the PM Collectibles Shop in Netherlands

Nearly all Barbies I shot for the Fashiondollz galleries can be bought in the online shop https://pmcollectibles.com/shop. The fastest way to find the Barbies is to use the shop’s search function. If the stock number is not available, search for the name.

Visiting the PM Collectibles Shop

In mid-June we had the wonderful opportunity to visit the PM Collectibles Shop in Dordrecht (The Netherlands). A day in Barbie paradise! That’s exactly how it seemed to us (Sonja from Barbie Photo Booth, martinaa and Dagmar). After 2,5 hours drive we reached Dordrecht and met countless Barbies that had accompanied us in recent years and hundreds of Barbies that we had never seen or heard of before. PM has a very large range of Exclusive Dolls from Sears, Woolworth, Wal-Mart and many other department stores and brands. Tons of Barbies that you won’t find in every catalog or book. Already in front of the shop, your heart starts to open. A shop window full of Barbies….

The store is designed like a large exclusive Barbie room, with lots of shelves and showcases for the more expensive Barbies. There are Barbies from all decades, from vintage to today and from playline to platinum label Collector Barbies – loose, mint in box or nrfb. And you find a large selection of exclusive Convention Dolls. As I said, the purest paradise for Barbie fans. In addition to Barbies, there are also various other fashion dolls from Fashion Royalty, Tonner, Gene, Franklin, Disney, Monster High, Bratz and lots and lots of fashion packs!

Unfortunately I missed to take more photos of the shop and the shelves. So I have to go again! PM allowed me to take photos for the Fashiondollz galleries. I got a bit intoxicated and spent almost four hours photographing Barbies and taking over 200 portrait photos.
Many thanks to PM for the great day and your patience to let me take pictures for hours! Of course we also bought some Barbies. The temptation was too big. But at some point we were so flashed that we didn’t know which Barbie we like most and want her to be ours.

All Barbies that are on the shelves can be ordered via the online shop. PM runs his Barbie online shop directly from the shop. The search function currently lists 2287 articles with the term Barbie. Of course, there are also the fashion packs. The shipping costs to Germany are currently around 14 euros. I had already ordered 2 dolls from the shop before our visit. They arrived well packaged and in good condition within 5 days. PM Collectibles is also present at various Barbie fairs in Holland and Germany. We met him at the stock exchange in Germany at the beginning of June. Maybe he’ll come to Cologne this year too.

Incidentally, PM has been in business for 37 years. He opened his store at the age of 17 (!!!). Isn’t it great when you already know exactly what you want to do at the age of 17 and then go through with it? His dad was there also in the store. I asked PM if his father wasn’t shocked by his career plans. No not at all. The Dutch are very liberal. My parents would have got into crisis if I had plans like that…

PM is an official Mattel dealer. So he already knows the innovations we can expect next year. He revealed us that the new Muertos Dolls will be on sale soon. This time they are two Barbies and a Ken. They shall look fantastic. Of course we would have liked to see photos, but we are patient!

So it was a great Barbie day in Dordrecht, which will definitely not be the last. The trip was worth every kilometer and every drop of sweat that flowed (the air conditioning in the car was defective). We had a little lunch in the restaurant next door and after our visit we went to the water and admired the lifting bridge system. Dordrecht is located on an island in the „three river corner“ of the Beneden Merwede, Oude Maas and Dordtsche Kil and also has a beautiful vintage town centre.
